• Document data you enter (employer, employee, earnings, deductions). We store only the last four digits of any SSN, encrypted at rest.
• Account data — your email and authentication identifier.
• Payment data — handled by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
• Usage & audit logs — actions, timestamps, IP, and user agent.

How we use it

To generate your documents, process payments, operate and secure the Service, and meet legal and audit obligations.

Data minimization

We aim to keep only what is needed to deliver and re-download what you purchased. Where offered, you may choose not to retain document data after download.

Service providers

We share data only as needed with processors who help us run the Service — including Stripe (payments), Clerk (authentication), our hosting provider, and an AI provider used for optional error-checking and import features. They process data on our behalf under contract.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and to remember your language preference. We do not sell your personal information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Email support@paystubproof.com and we will respond as required by law.

Retention

We retain account and transaction records as long as needed for the Service and to comply with legal, tax, and audit requirements, then delete or anonymize them.
